STORAX  styrax Lyquiamber orientalis : The storax tree that remained from 65 million years past until today is growing naturally ,only in our country in the world, in the villages of one of our cities,Muğla. There are balsam cannels on the lignified body of the storax tree. In every two or three year, in the summer longitudinal splits are opened to take its aromatic oil(balsam) and barks. One of the two countries which produces the oil of Storax is Honduras and the other one is Turkey. Since the period of Hypocrates, the oil of Storax has been a source of healing which is often used in the prescriptions of the doctors. The oil of Storax has an important place in traditional public medicines. The effects and the the examples of the methods to benefit from the bitterish, aromatic, yellowish grey coloured oil of Storax which is  in solid consistency like honey and sold in markets:

It is said that the queen of Egypt was using the Storax oil as parfume and love elixir. Because it has a smoothing, relaxing and cleaning effects on skin. Also in Ancient Egypt it is used for mummification.

It is belived that when it is used as incense, it removes the negative energy and gives freshment.

As the overdose of everyting is harmful, even the natural products should be used with the guidance of doctors and professional phamacist.
